0! = 1

This is true because n! or n factorial = n(n-1)! simplifying the problem and substituting 1 we get 1! = 1(1-1)!. 1(1-1)! equals 0 factorial. Since 1 factorial equals 1, 1! = 0! which means 0! = 1.
